of Christian’s Cookies
When you’re craving something sweet, Christian’s Cookies have become the treat.
Christian of Christian’s Cookies started baking his grandma’s chocolate chip cookies and a business was born! At 16, he’s selling cookies by the dozen, all homemade and all with a little sprinkle of help from Youth Ventures.
Christian heard about Youth Ventures during a presentation at his school and says he thought it would be a cool summer project to make a little money and learn some new skills.
From chocolate chip to red velvet cookies (some of Christian’s favourites), he started with some advice from his business mentor, a Facebook page, and a table at the Regatta. One business challenge Youth Ventures couldn’t help him master? How to go from baking a dozen cookies to 300 in one day with a “semi-working” oven. But Christian says he figured that one out on his own.
Though he freely admits he doesn’t know where the business is going – he’s only 16 after all – Christian says whether it’s a sideline or he ends up with a fully-staffed, bakery downtown, he learned invaluable lessons about business, marketing, and money from his experience with Youth Ventures and he wants more people to support these opportunities for youth.
Youth Ventures empowers young people to turn their hobbies, interests and passions into profitable ventures. If you’d like to help Youth Ventures inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs, get in touch and we’ll help you get started.
