My name is Alicia Lilly
What Youth Ventures site are you based out of?
This summer I am based out of the Harbour Breton Community Youth Network in Harbour Breton, servicing the entire South Coast.
What are some of your favourite hobbies?
My favorite hobby would have to be spending time with family.
What’s your favourite movie?
My favorite movie is Annie !
What is your favourite band?
My favorite band is The Band Perry.
What is your favourite restaurant?
Jungle Jims !
Do you have any pets?
No Pets !
What does entrepreneurship mean to you?
Entrepreneurship to me means a alot ! It is taking something you love to do and turning it into a business, it is having drive and determination to make money, it ‘s having enough creativity to make a business yours.
What is the coolest business you heard of?
The coolest business i have heard of is I For An Eye it is a socially conscious eyewear brand. Their vision is to provide as many people as they can with vision care. So they have teamed up with Seva Canada to make that happen. $10 from every pair you purchase is donated to Seva Canada to help third world countries in many different areas of need in terms of vision care. Prescription eyewear, surgery, education, medicine, etc.
What are you looking forward to most this summer?
I’m looking forward to building relationships with students and participants. I look forward to seeing what they come up with this year!
What are some interesting business opportunities you see in your region?
There are so many opportunities. I see hockey camps being one that would really work here.
What do youth in NL need to know about Youth Ventures?
It is a great opportunity to make some extra cash and to even better yourself for the future. You will never be alone if you want to start a business.
What is the most important thing people of any age who want to start a business need to know?
There is help! You won’t be alone in the journey to starting your own business, and you never know until you try!
