I am from Nova Scotia

What’s one local business you admire? Why do you admire it?

I admire New Creations hairstyling. I admire this business because they work independently and have been successful for a very long time. The owner puts in hard work and dedication to make people happy with her services which is something to admire.

What does entrepreneurship mean to you?

Entrepreneurship means when a youth wants to impact their community in a positive way by bringing forward a new business(s) or product(s) into their community for the benefit of all. Entrepreneurs have dedication, will power, and the determination to make their business a success. Entrepreneurs are some of the most hard-working individuals in the world.

What are you looking forward to most this summer?

I am looking forward to getting out into the community and helping youth with their dreams, goals, and aspirations.

What are some interesting business opportunities you see in your region?

In our region we do not have many self-started businesses in my region. Most of the businesses are brand name businesses. We do have businesses catered to pets like a doggy day care or dog walking business. This would be a great opportunity for youth. We also have many crafts fairs and events in my area that youth could present their projects in. Another great opportunity would be a business catering to senior citizens because that is most of our populations. With the help and guidance of Youth Ventures I’m hoping to introduce youth to many possibilities when it comes to entrepreneurship.

What do youth in NL need to know about Youth Ventures?

Youth Ventures can open so many doors for all youth. This program as taught its members how to become the successful entrepreneurs they have always dreamed of becoming. It has plenty of resources for youth who are searching for answers about the business industry. Youth Ventures is also not just a temporary program. Youth have continued their Youth Ventures businesses for years and are still just as successful to this day.

What is a piece of advice you have for people of any age who are considering starting a business?

Hard work always pays off when you are doing anything especially creating your own business. The more dedication and work you are willing to put into your business, the most likely it is to be successful.
